Our Mission

Support Children with Disabilities and other special needs, through developing and provision of support services that may lead to their sustainable inclusion in education and subsequent equal participation in social developments.


Scope of Operations

Scope of Operations
AIEDR operates in the area of education and Local Community-Based Inclusive Developments (CBID), and is authorized to operate on the whole territory of Rwanda. Its activities in the past five (5) years have covered support to 77 Parents groups of children with disabilities and 121 Schools, both in Kayonza and Rutsiro District Zones.

In Kayonza District Intervention Zone, there 15 Parents Groups that were initiated and organized around the inclusiveness and Local Community Development objectives comprised of Auto-support for parents with or without Children with disabilities and include. The Parents in these groups both in Kayonza and Rutsiro work hand in hand with schools operating in the community.

In 4 Local Community Sectors of Gahini, Mwili, Murundi and Rukara that have cooperation with AIEDR through the Kayonza district authorities, there 29 Model schools identified for the sensitization of the rural community members, basing on the Local Community Based Inclusive Development and Community Based Rehabilitation CBID/CBR approaches for the local families self-support development and inclusive education integration of the children with disabilities.
